  • Mar 14. Off to Creative Closets on Amsterdam Ave. They will build a black larder so we will have somewhere to put food in our tiny kitchen.
  • Mar 16. Tim came around today. He ripped up the floor in the basement bathroom, cut the waterlines and took out the toilet, wash basin and tub. Then he bought lumber to rebuild the floor at Home Depot. Decided on new toilet, washbasin, and shower stall. April. Very pleased with the new black larder in kitchen. Would use Creative C again.
  • May. Tim and Sannino, the plumber more than 90 years old, finally finished the downstairs bathroom. Izumi loves it. We finished off with a light blue paint job, fake marble tiles to match, and matching curtain. Put in an exhaust system of my own: a plastic fan from WalMart mounted on four thin nylon threads to the joists. Absolutely noisless. Much better than any commercial exhaust at one tenth the cost.
  • Sept. Man from American Bath in Queens stripped off the plastic covering of our bathtube and put on a bright shiny new covering. Wonder how long it will last?
