  1. The Russian artists of the late 1890's became bored with the social consciousness of the Wanderers and other realist painters, and developed a movement of art for art's sake, which went by the title of Mir Iskussva. The movement ranged across the art horizon, including writing, painting, music, the theater, and architecture. The current exhibition at the Princeton Art Museum presents 80 examples of this art from the Russian Museum in St Petersburg.
